My grandfather’s birthday is next week. I’ve been looking for banana cake recipes for a few days and I can’t find a suitable or interesting recipes so far!

My grandfather is crazy over bananas and I want to bake something related to bananas. If you have any banana cake recipes to share, please share it with me! 🙂

Cornflakes Cookies

I’ve always wanted to bake cookies.

And it seems like the cornflakes in my house is always there.

I searched online on what I can do with the cookies & found this:

I tried this recipe but the flour doesn’t seem to mix together so I added in an egg.

And it turned out well!

I also added in raisin!

Very crunchy cookies, I must say.

Mum’s Birthday Cake

I wanted to bake something for my mum for her birthday.

I want to surprise her.

I’ve always wanted to make her a birthday cake but we do not have a oven at that time

and I do not have the confident.

I keep thinking that baking is so hard and I can’t do it.

Time was a factor.

I can only bake it when she left for work.

And the night before I attended a concert and was really tired.

I am ambitious.

Wanted to do a 3 layer cake.

I had no choice but to cheat.

Bought a cake mix.

I even hid this cake mix in my cupboard.

I didn’t sleep all night.

When I saw my mum left for work, I quickly set up everything.

I followed the steps on the box but I was confused on the amount of water.

I blindly followed the picture and used the same thing.

And it turned out that it was really watery.

Another lesson learnt.

I need to really study the recipe.

Please bear with the ugliness of the icing.

I’m not an expert on it.

For the icing recipe, you can check out the post on vanilla cupcakes.

I decided to sprinkle some heart shapes to make the cake look more “presentable”.

When I have the time, I would love to give it another shot.

Nutella Cupcakes

If you love chocolate or Nutella,

then this post is for you.

If you can’t bake but would love to try.

This post is for you.

You just need 3 ingredients!

1) Flour 2) Nutella 3) Egg

See, even this little girl can bake this recipe.

So can you!

My attempt at baking Nutella cupcakes for my friends!

I sprinkled some nuts to make it look nicer and give it some colour.

A closer look at the nutella cupcakes.

Hari Raya Cookies

I always envy those who bakes during Hari Raya.

I never experienced baking during Hari Raya.

Since we have a oven this time round, I asked my Mum to bake with me.

It was a nice experience.

Corn Flakes is one of my favourites during the Hari Raya especially Honey Corn Flakes.

I followed this recipe

And this is how it turned out

The first few sets were burnt.

So we adjusted the temperature and lower it down.

Eventually, the rest turn out okay.

The secret to baking is to know the right temperature.

If you fail the first time, don’t give up.

Play with the recipe.

Usually, it is either the timing or the temperature.

There were 2 recipes on the corn flakes box

and it looks easy.

Therefore I tried it out.

Corn Flakes Choc Chip Meringue

For the chocolate coco pops,

I followed the steps from a Youtube video

but instead of using corn flakes, I used coco pops.

Coco Pops Chocolate Truffles.

This require no baking.

You just need to mix it and put it in the refrigerator.

I used the whole 400g of coco pops.

Vanilla Cupcakes

I love this recipe I found online.

Because of this recipe, I have ‘personalised’ some of the cupcakes I made.

It’s such an easy recipe and you can tweak it according to your preference.

I’ve always wanted to do rainbow cupcakes and watched quite a number of videos.

Most of it shows that one needs to bake layers by layers.

But that’s only if you’re baking a cake not a cupcake.

But at that time, I wasn’t aware of it since I’m a beginner in baking cupcakes.

But after witnessing it with my own eyes, then I realised it’s actually easy to make it.

My first attempt at rainbow cupcakes.

I used 3 colours.

The second time baking rainbow cupcakes but this time with the green icing.

The recipe on the YouTube will teach you on how to make the icing too.

But I advice you to cut down on the sugar for the icing.

It’s really sweet.

You can cut it by half.

I baked 100 of the vanilla cupcakes for a family event.

This is my favourite of all.

Mum finally bought the icing equipments and I tried it out.

So, if you want to do rainbow cupcakes or vanilla cupcakes,

just follow the above recipes.

But if you are making the icing, please do cut down on the sugar.

Apple Crumble

After baking something related to banana,

I was thinking what other fruits I can bake.

An apple.

As the saying goes, an apple a day keeps the doctor away.

I followed this recipe:

I nearly failed baking this.

I was in a grumpy mood and I did things halfheartedly.

Instead of using the normal flour,

I used self raising flour and on top of that, I added in baking soda.

It was a disaster in the oven.

It’s like there’s a volcano inside the oven.

Everything started to overflow.

My heart sank looking at it.

But eventually, it turned out well.

I’ve always thought the crispy part on top of the of apple crumble are nuts

but after making this, I eventually found out that it’s the flour.

You just need to sprinkle it.

Part of it was burnt 😦

Lesson learnt from this baking session was that if you want to bake,

you need to be in the right mind.

Otherwise, things will turned out bad!

Hope to bake this again and follow the right steps!
